# GPS Breadcrumb Trail Analysis

THE CHRISTMAS HEIST! · challenge 12 · hard

> Detective Quacker studies the package chain evidence. "Packages were split and redistributed... someone inside handled the warehouse logistics, but who was making the actual deliveries?" Scout Samantha arrives with temporal pattern analysis algorithms. "Detective! Let's go back to Coach Waddles' GPS data—he's still our delivery suspect! His GPS transponder created a 'breadcrumb trail' of millions of location pings throughout December 2025. For each GPS ping, calculate how much time passed since the PREVIOUS ping. Where are the largest gaps? Long gaps mean the transponder was turned off—revealing when he tried to hide his movements! Find the maximum time gap in seconds between any two consecutive GPS pings during December 2025."

## Task

Find the longest time gap in seconds between any two consecutive GPS pings from Coach Waddles (duck_id = 1) during December 2025. You will be working with `dbquacks_xmas.gps_tracking_events` (MotherDuck) table.

## Tables

### `dbquacks_xmas.gps_tracking_events`

A table in a MotherDuck share; its columns are not listed here.

## Data

The tables live in a DuckDB database: https://dbquacks.com/data/databases/christmas_local.duckdb

To query it outside the browser, attach it read-only:

```sql
ATTACH 'https://dbquacks.com/data/databases/christmas_local.duckdb' AS db (READ_ONLY);
USE db;
```

This level also queries MotherDuck shares, which need a MotherDuck token. On the page, the editor asks for one.
